I’m very excited to announce the release of my first album as a leader, Frame of Reference. The record features some of my favorite musicians and closest friends:

Craig Weinrib (drums), Aaron Parks (piano), Rick Rosato (bass) and Peter Schlamb (vibes). Special guests Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet, track 10) and Kyle Wilson (tenor, track 9) are also featured on a song each. The last track on the album has horn section including Corey King (trombone) and Joris Roelofs (bass clarinet). All these musicians sound truly unique and amazing. I’m very happy that they were able to shape this project.

The CD was recorded at the great Sear Sound studio in New York, where vintage microphones rain supreme. The music was recorded during two fun, yet intense days in late january. The majority of the repertoire consists of original music by Aaron, Peter and myself.

The music was mixed by Joeri Saal in studio 150 under the supervision of my audiophile brother, Gideon. Two people without whom this CD would not have sounded the same.

The record is an independent release, available through this website and in stores (momentarily only in the Netherlands). You can order either a digital copy (instant download) or a physical one.
